This page contains a description of commonly-used stats.

Game Score
Created by Bill James. Used to calculate a single integer on a (more or less) 0-100 scale demonstrating how well a starting pitcher performed in a single game. Formula from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Game_score:
  1. Start with 50 points
  2. Add 1 point for each out recorded
  3. Add 2 points for each inning completed after the 4th
  4. Add 1 point for each strikeout
  5. Subtract 2 points for each hit allowed
  6. Subtract 4 points for each earned run allowed
  7. Subtract 2 points for each unearned run allowed
  8. Subtract 1 point for each walk

  1. 10 times wins
  2. Minus five times losses
  3. Plus one for each Earned Run saved versus a 5.00 ERA
  4. Plus 2/3 of a point for each strikeout
  5. Minus a point for each walk
  6. Plus 3 points for a Save
